Each region of India has its own folk dances that are performed on every possible occasion, to celebrate the arrival of seasons, birth of a child, a wedding or a festival. Traditional musical instruments like flute, tambura, veena, violin, tabla, sitar, shehnai, nagaswaram, sarangi, santoor, mridanga, gettuvadyam, etc. give dance and music a harmonious touch. Colorful and vibrant folk and tribal arts prevalent in different areas across the country in the form of paintings, pottery, ornaments, home–decorations, etc. portray India’s rich heritage. India is a land of festivals. These festivals exhibit timeless traditions when one can experience the Indian culture at its best. The Pushkar Mela Festival, Desert Festival of Jaisalmer, Kite Festival, Hampi Festival, Durga Puja and Pongal are some of the top cultural festivals.

Cooking is an art in India. A great variety of herbs and spices are used. An amalgamation of different ethnic influences, Indian cuisine is ancient, drenched in tradition. Every state and each region is known for its own cooking styles and food habits, giving birth to a variety of mind-boggling dishes.
